The Tone Rangers are a fun and friendly mixed voices community pop/rock choir that practise in Portslade every Wednesday evening. The choir is led by singer/songwriter and professional musician Sharon Lewis.
Sharon has been writing, teaching and producing music for many years and has released various albums and EPs with labels such as Warner Brothers, Island and Rough Trade Records. During this time Sharon honed her skills as a singer/musician, performer and arranger.
Bringing her musical experience to the choir Sharon explains “I have a great passion for vocal harmonies and enjoy writing my own arrangements of songs. Creating a choir felt like a natural evolution in my musical journey”
“There is nothing more joyous than making music together, it really lifts your spirits but what I enjoy the most is the sense of belonging and community that is created through our shared love of singing".
The Tone Rangers repertoire includes everything from Elvis to The Bangles, The Beatles to Radiohead and everything in between including folk, gospel and musical theatre.
At the end of every term the choir perform live at local venues and often raise money for charity.
